This course is for sensitive, creative people who:
want a gentle way back into painting
love little details, colour, pattern, animals, homes, flowers, fabric and story
feel overwhelmed by big blank canvases
want to make art with meaning, not pressure
enjoy being guided by a warm, encouraging teacher
want to create something small enough to begin, but rich enough to matter
Small paintings invite us to lean in.
They create intimacy.
They let us experiment without the pressure of a large canvas.
They can hold memory, humour, tenderness, colour, and story in a beautifully manageable space.
You can paint loose and it adds to the personality of the piece, less angst more fun.

I’ll guide you gently through the process, showing you how I layer colour, collage, line, pattern and detail.
You’ll see how I make decisions as I go, how I respond to what’s appearing, and how a little painting becomes more alive through tending.
This is not about copying perfectly.
It’s about letting a tiny painting become a doorway into creative confidence.

You do not need fancy materials. You can use what you have, and I’ll show you the supplies I use and possible alternatives.
You do not need to know exactly what you’re making before you begin.
You are allowed to start small.
